5th Grade:
In 5th grade we have been learning how to add and subtract decimals. We use the same trade and carry rules that students have used when adding and subtracting whole numbers. Before our work with adding and subtracting decimals students learned about coordinate grids. We played a very fun game called "Treasure Hunt" please ask you student about that game. Remember I always have extra copies of games if students wish to play at home!
We are almost finished with Unit 4 which means students will have a test most likely this week. Our next unit brings us back to learning more about fractions!
6th Grade:
Last week students took a test on unit 3. they will be getting this test back this week to get signed and make corrections. We have started our new unit which is all about Algebraic Expression and Equations. We have started reviewing the Order of Operations. Students did a fun activity today called "Four 4s" The directions for the activity are as follows;
